We stopped off on trip from AZ to NY, what a find!! Friendliest BBQ pit EVER! Best staff, and the owner became a friend immediately when talking to her. The Ribs were to die for, as was the pulled pork. Wafts of hickory smoke while eating outside was heaven!

We stopped in our way from New Mexico back home in Myrtle Beach. We wanted some TX bbq so we found this place and loved it. A little hole in the wall place with firnedly people and awesome food! My son and I got the frito pie, the quartar sized and it was too much for me to even eat! My hubs got the jalapeno sausage and brisket with beans, slaw and potato salad. Best potato salad I've ever had.

This was good. Only bad thing is I ran out of bread for my brisket. The potato salad is good. And that turkey was juicy.

Great meat, great service, friendly people. Typical of the Texas-style "hole in the wall" BBQ joint, there is nothing ordinary about this place. There is plenty of meat and lots of other things, the prices are more than fair, service is fast. Jeff Henks took over in March 2025 and has continued the tradition of excellent food. Unlike some other joints, they discard the hard crush and the fat from the meat before chopping it up, leaving pure meat with pure flavor! Their sauce is incredible! The frito pie is a secret guilty pleasure. A whole pie is difficult to finish in one sitting.

A I love this kind of BBQ joint. Real smoked BBQ in a down home atmosphere. The service was great; quick, friendly, relaxed and informative. The meat (Sliced beef and pork ribs) was tender and flavorful. The sauce was well paired with the meat; tomato based with a nice kick of hot pepper. The potato salad was also prepared with a knowing hand. Not too much mayo and a little extra vinegar. You could taste the potatoes, which is a pleasant change from most modern potato salads. I didn't care for the beans, I thought they were plain, but my wife liked them. Even the homemade sweet tea was good. The 2 meat plate we ordered was big enough to split between two people with a little left over to bring home. I loved the old school look of the restaurant but some people might like something a like more polished. Overall, an excellent lunch, worth another trip next time I'm in Amarillo

Talk about a hole in the wall! Just left there. It's so homey and the food was really, really good. Given, they were chopped brisket sandwiches, they were pretty damn good. Potato salad was also pretty good, husband enjoyed the hot link he'd gotten.

As a traveler I stumbled across this place from the reviews, it absolutely DID NOT DIsSAPOINT! FROM BEGINNING TO END AUTHENTIC. Now, from what I understand there Is new owners and the guy who just bought it has been struggling to find help but making it happen very well! The food was out of this world, I had the chopped beef sandwich (with sauce) and some potato salad both were delicious. They had all the fixings too (peppers, pickles, onions) I can't say enough good about this place. I don't know what it tasted like 30 years ago, but I know that today when I went april 21st 2025, I had some excellent food with great service. Check them out now , thank me later. You're welcome.
